The Hampta Pass Trek is a breathtaking crossover trek in the Indian Himalayas, taking you from the lush green Kullu Valley to the stark, arid landscapes of Lahaul & Spiti. Standing at 14,100 ft (4,298 m), this trek offers an extraordinary contrast of terrains, from dense pine forests, vibrant wildflower meadows, and gushing streams to barren, glacial valleys and dramatic mountain passes. The journey begins in Manali, leading through scenic campsites like Jobra, Jwara, and Balu ka Ghera, where trekkers experience the beauty of alpine landscapes. The highlight is the thrilling Hampta Pass crossing, which offers panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and deep valleys. As you descend into Spiti, the terrain transforms into a cold desert, offering a surreal experience. A major attraction is the optional visit to Chandratal Lake, a pristine, crescent-shaped high-altitude lake known for its stunning reflections and changing hues. The best time to embark on this trek is June to September, when the trail is at its most scenic and Spiti is accessible. Travelling with India hikes ensures your safety as they have well trained people and they also provide very good food and stay during the trek. I always wanted to hike and experience the beauty of a snowy mountain in North India, but I had no prior experience or the mental and physical strength for trekking. Joining my siblings, we found Indiahikes—and it turned out to be an unforgettable journey. Each day brought new lessons, challenges, and moments of joy. We were lucky to have an amazing team and an exceptional guide, Vaibhav, whose deep knowledge of nature, birds, trekking, and even stargazing made the experience even more special. Over four days, we climbed and descended 25 km—without even realizing the distance, thanks to the fun games and great company. Reaching the summit felt like a true achievement. Thank you, Indiahikes, for making my dream come true! Neetu yadav2025-03-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Green trials is something you must experience Auhon Chakraverty2025-03-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The overall experience was very nice and enjoyable. It made me realise that trekking is not that hard and I have the capability to do more such and even harder treks in the future. Apart from the actual treks the entire india hikes team including our trek leader Vipul sir, our guides Adesh sir and Ritik sir, the cooking team and all others involved made our trekking experience very enjoyable. The food was fantastic and made me eat more food than I ate at my home and the games in the morning and evening never made us feel bored. The treks were never very hard and the routes and their lengths were perfect as they didn’t make the trek extremely long nor were they so long that it made us feel completely exhausted. Overall this trek was very good and has motivated me to do more such treks in the future. Dhatri Siddhapura2025-03-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
